Rename the Dyneema Cord Contest on 08/11/2011 09:15:43 MDT Print View

Hey Everyone,

I need your help in exchange for some cord. Now that I am selling my Reflective Glowire the Guywire name has become a bit confusing for me and some of my customers so I want to come up with a less confusing name that really describes the cord. I was originally thinking of using the name Toughline but Tufline is already a name for a braided Dyneema fishing line and don't want to get into any trademark disputes. So I want to come up with a name that really describes the cord like my Glowire does. So here's the deal. If you have a good name submit it here on forum and in a week or so I will decide who the winner is. That person will receive a free 50' hank of the cord.

Thanks,
Lawson

Product Description:
Dyneema Guywire is a hi-viz orange 2mm single braid cord that's suitable for hauling applications including bear bagging, tent guy lines, tarp ridge lines, and anything else you can can think of. Unlike other Dyneema/Spectra based accessory cords ours is made using 100% Dyneema fiber and yields the highest strength, lightest weight, lowest stretch and longest wear life available. It has a break strength of 1,000 lbs and is vinyl coated to ensure great knot holding capability.

Strong Light Orange wire.

So you could have GLOwire and SLOwire as your product names. ;-)

Call it Dyneema Haulwire.

Then you have Dyneema Glowire and Dyneema Haulwire listed on your website. Makes it easy to differentiate product by function. The naming schema becomes easy to understand for customers and for shipping when picking orders. You can also add to it by application later (e.g. Dyneema Clotheswire).

Tangerine dynocord on 08/11/2011 10:51:08 MDT Print View

Lawson,
I have read lots of advert in magazines my life and the skateboard, surfing world like to have fun with naming their new product that are the same as everybody else's. The companies usually make the product tuff sounding with some humor thrown in to mix of name of new product to attract customers.
So here is my new product name and fun description to make you laugh and remember the name of the product at the same time and they know they can only purchase it at one retailer.

"Tangerine DynoCord

Our Tangerine DynoCord is so strong it can be used for net trapping a small dinosaur. And it is so bright you can find your dyno traps at night when trapping dinosaurs.

What is behind this new miracle fiber that can trap a small dinosaur 100% Dyneema that is stronger than steel. It is only 2mm thick so dinosaur can't see it also has a breaking strength of 1,000 lbs and is vinyl coated to ensure a great knot holding capability for making your dinosaur net trap.

So when your on your next Dinosaur hunt or you just need dynocord to guy out your tarp or tent you will be 100% prepared for what nature throw at you."

Enjoy,
Terry

Tuff-Wire, Tuff-Cord, Tuff-Guy, Tuff-Twine or "Tough" on any of these. I like the 3rd one best. --Mike

How about IronWire? Iron is reddish orange, and strong, Wire suggests that it is thin and light.

Nano-light, Nano-Cord, Nano-wire, Nano-line of those I like Nano-wire the best as it works along the same lines of your Glo-wire cord.

what about
"Fluoro-Sheen"
or something simple, yet catchy like
"IMpact" (the IM is short for Indestructable, Multi-use)
