just picked this Swiss Army knife up, dubbed the "Bushcrafter" by SwissBianco who sells them (limited runs)- basically a Farmer sans one layer

knife, saw and awl- pretty basic, lays nice and flat and @ 2.1 oz not too flabby either

Where did you buy it? I'm having trouble getting a source to pop up on Google.

I found the same photo website where they show off their cool work... no info on ordering, though. I dig those damascus steel blades.

it's in their newsletter here

http://swissbianco.ca/Newsletter/SwissBianco_NL_2011_4.htm

to order you need to email Roger at swissbianco@gmx.ch to check for availability

they do their knives in small runs- had to wait quite awhile before the bushcrafters came up again

Swiss Bianco makes some interesting stuff. I like a knife like this paired with a Victorinox Classic to get scissors, tweezers and toothpick. These alox-handled versions have a thicker main blade than the other Victorinox models of the same size.

Other off-the-shelf versions with saws:

Victorinox Farmer -- like Mike's version with added screwdriver/bottle opener and can opener.

Victorinox Hiker-- with plastic scales (handles)

Victorinox Fieldmaster --- has more blades and scissors

Victorinox One-hand Trekker--- larger 111mm frame and locking blade

Wenger Handyman-- with more blades and scissors

I have a one handed trekker but its a little bulky. I like the Anox knives because of the slim profile. Thanks for pointing this one out!

Also the Rucksack, which I believe is now discontinued.

My old Stayglow collection. If you can't tell, I like Swiss Army knives :)

+1 what Dale said. If it had scissors it'd be perfect for me.

I forgot my trekking pole, and had to use an axe to fashion one. All I know is I suck using an axe and that saw would have really come in handy. Thanks for the post.

..actually that Wenger Handyman looks like what I need. 3.1 oz.

I wonder if you can drill out the factory rivets, replace the awl with scissors from another SA knife and rivet it all back together. Hmmmmm....

Don said "I wonder if you can drill out the factory rivets, replace the awl with scissors from another SA knife and rivet it all back together. Hmmmmm...."

there are some daring folks that mod their SAK's removing layers, replacing bits, etc- you can get the stuff here to do it (pins/tools, etc)
