Funny thing, one of my clients was at my desk and I was talking about the JMT and she said her friend has been hiking it for the past 6 days and just resupplied at Reds.

She showed me photos that her friend had posted on facebook.

Thought I would relay what I saw:

Thousand Island Lakes...10k has snow on peaks behind it and large patches of snow around it.

Donahue Pass at 11k, more snow on the ground, but looked like large patches vs. completely covered over.

My client said her friend talking about all the sun and need for sunscreen.

No metion of bugs.

9,000ft highs 65-75, lows 35-45
11,000ft high 60-70, low 30-40

Not bad....humm, wonder if I should ditch the 3.3 oz overstuffed Goosefeet down socks to save weight????

Seems like everyone's going to be out on the JMT in August....so much to get packed and double checked before Sunday!

I hear ya Tony! 3 weeks of work left for me. Then it's off to Reno and the JMT and 3 weeks off!!

Sure those three weeks can not come soon enough.

Biggest pain for me on the prep was getting all my food prepared and then mailed out.

Maybe by the time we get back, I can post up some info on trail conditions.

Might be able to do that if I can get internet access at Reds or VVR.

Tony, Regarding food prep, are you all each taking a bear canister from the start or sharing in the beginning and then mailing another one to one of your resupply points?
