Has anyone successfully made a soft shackle from this thin rope? I want to make one to replace the mini biner in my bear bag kit but no matter what I do I can not figure out a way to coax the bury through the rope's interior.

You can tie that kind of soft shackle on any line. It is just as strong and easier to use than the more common one.
