Gents,
Are there any narrow flamed stoves out there for this cup? I've tried a few stoves (penny etc.) but the flame is too wide and goes around the sides. Any ideas for a flame that goes mostly under?

Look for a non-pressurized, top burner. Side burner with flames jetting out = wasted fuel.

You might want to check the Trail Designs website (www.traildesigns.com) for a matching Caldera Cone and stove. The cone will hold your SP700 at just the right height and is a great windscreen. I think the whole kit runs about $35.

The Gram Weenie Pro will work. Also, Zelphs Venom Super Stove will work. I have both of these stoves and they work with my Backcountry 700 ml Ti pot which is slightly narrower than the SP 700.

I use the venom stove from zelph on my SP700 and it works great. Not in Ti though, but its only 10 dollars and will last a long time.

No I do not use a pot support with either of these stoves. They sit directly on the stoves.

I made a penny stove for use with my Trek700. Instead of making the jet holes outside the rim of the base I put them inside the rim. This causes the jets to fire all into the middle. It works pretty well in my opinion.

I use the Evernew Ti stove with my SP 700 and it works very well, with or without the pot stand.

IMO you would be best off with a simple open burner, something along the lines of the Ion, a chimney style, or your Flatcat. The pressurized side burners and Venom stoves all suffered from poor efficiency with narrow pots. I was about to give up on narrow pots altogether before I settled on a caldera cone setup.

I actually did something pretty similar to what Mitchell did for my Snow Peak that works pretty well, too. I'm toying with idea of getting a Venom stove though. I like the idea of a one size fits all stove.

Cobalt Blue Soloist from Zelphs stove. Works great with my SP 600.

I have the Trek 700 and I use a caldera cone ti-tri ULC (with included stove). It works great. I also have just the regular caldera cone and it is even more efficient than the ULC. I highly recommend.

Just to throw another option into the mix. I have both the snowpeak 700 and 900. I have a Bushcooker LT 1 from fourdogstoves.com that works like a champ. It is primarily a woodgas stove but I use alcohol quite often in it, you can use esbit as well.
