Please Order Your Headnets Soon on 08/22/2011 18:07:33 MDT Print View

Greetings ;

peter deeply thanks the all of you for a successful launch of Peter’sHeadNets.com, as well as the kind words and advise. true enough ... there’s still no website, however we have sold a boat load of headnets. i think every order has been shipped and all but the very few in transit have been received. everything .. all good.
here is what is next : the BPL market is nearing maturity/saturation, and peter will be branching out with an ebay offering in early Sept. when such happens, it is not allowed the he continue to offer items “listed somewhere else” on the gear forum. that’s the cut-in-stone rule, and there’s some wisdom to it. it’s not like he can make a campaign contribution and get a corporate waiver from health care legislation ... this is a fair rule that applies to all, and we can live with it.
to that end, and to avoid the ugly situation of Paying More (it’s coming in sept) for the Same Thing, i might casually suggest that people look ahead to what is going to be a changing situation, and decide if they are going to want/need headnets in the future, and toss their order in now.
the ebay offering will come in at roughly 20~25% delivered cost above what you are look’n at on BPL, being as peter v. has been eating the shipping and the tax. this is not jacking BPL up for more sales, this is a Thank You , a heads-up, and a word to the wise.
Thank You again. quality is up, lead times are down. (funny how those go together if you know what you’re doing..)

tally Ho !
v.

ps. of late, we are operating under a very sketchy internet connection on this end. please allow for that issue. thanks.

pss. i would have posted this sunday ... but too many BPL’rs were so very crabby that day.

Great Headnet on 08/22/2011 23:28:41 MDT Print View

Just got two headnets, and I'm very pleased with them. The design is perfect -- stays away from your face, good adjustability, contoured fit for the shoulders so it doesn't bunch up, very light (.35 oz on my scale).

Happy customer!

Peter's Headnets - One week review on 08/23/2011 16:46:20 MDT Print View

I was able to use my new headnet from Peter this past week for a Clark Range hike in SE Yosemite. Given the copious rain we've had in CA this year, I was glad to have some protection against the hoards. Two things stand out about Peter's headnet v other nets (aside from low weight) - 1) very easy to see out of the net (compared to some other nets) and 2) didn't get too hot in the ~80 temps. I was very comfortable wearing the net all day in decent heat on the trail and found it to provide excellent protection. I wore a wide-brim hat during the day and a fleece hat as the sun went down and the net worked well with both hat sizes.

final pricing info? on 08/23/2011 19:31:04 MDT Print View

Hope I'm not too late to the party! So I saw in the first post that price being considered was $30 for two - is that the final price? Is it $15 for one, then?

I'm probably in for one.

His website is still up, but says to buy the headnets on ebay. I didn't see a listing for his headnets on ebay.
