Since I moved into the "obsessive phase" of lightening my load several years ago, I discovered an entire host of companies that fly under the radar. By the way, my discoveries were mainly because of all you hikers on this forum. I have had great experiences with Gossamer Gear, Six Moon Designs, Trail Designs, Mountain Laurel Designs, BackpackFlyfishing dot com, just to name a few.

This month I bought a Pyranet 2 for my Trailstar from John Stultz at BearPaw Wilderness Designs and corresponded with him several times during the ordering and later during the set up process. He always answered quickly and was very helpful, even calling me to double check a detail about the order.

Last week I wanted to order another Caldera Cone from Trail Designs. Rand not only sent me the cone I ordered, but he included another cone for free because it was a "blem." It was completely functional; the logo was just a little wonky.

Nothing new here; I just wanted to speak up about how great it is to support these individuals dedicated to our little niche.

See ya,

Tal

these guys are new:
hammockgear.com likely sells more quilts than the vendors mentioned, combined.
littlelightgear.com is leading the UL pack market for kids under 12
blackrockgear.com makes likely the warmest hat for the weight
specialty items from Papasmurf, Dutch, Leigh, too many to mention
i cant think of many others. maybe my quilts. but that's nothing new.
