Putting a GGG Gorilla waist belt on a GG Murmur? on 07/07/2011 23:31:45 MDT Print View

I have been using and enjoying my GG Gorilla pack for awhile now. Just ordered a GG Murmur for shorter, quicker trips. I know that the Gorilla waist belt is removable, as is the murmur waist belt. The murmur is a smaller webbing only belt, but does anyone know if the Gorilla waist belt could be installed on the Murmur pack?

its not without some sewing and seam ripping.

IMO the Gorilla waist belt on the Murmur would be overkill. I have both packs and the Murmur is very comfortable just as is with 20 lbs or less.

I don't know why you would want a waist belt on any UL pack.
But I REALLY don't know why you would want one on the murmur!!

I also own both packs as well. The hip belts are not interchangable between the Gorilla & Murmur. I stopped using the belt on the Murmur after one trip because it just isn't necessary for the loads carried with a Murmur. The attachment mechanism for the Gorilla & Murmur belts is completely different.
