Turkey bacon on 07/07/2011 19:57:50 MDT Print View

Heading for the Colorado Trail tomorrow early so I've microwaved turkey bacon to go with my freeze-dried omelettes. The bacon is now fairly crisp and should, with the salt it has, keep well in double Ziploc snack bags.

I also have a single slice of (gasp!) Spam in a foil pouch that I can fry up if really necessary - and I mean REALLY necessary.

Here in 'Vegas I think Von's has Kroger foods so I'll try it. Also Foor-For-Less is a Kroger store if I remember correctly. I'll get some for my August backpack.

Yeah! Up here we have Fred Meyer's and QFC which are owned by Kroger. It is crumbled, so is in a bag. They hide it in weird areas, sometimes with salad dressing.....
