Hi all,
I've been out of touch with backpacking the last 6 months and am just getting back up to speed with things. I have 2 neo-air regular pads but on the site there is only the large option now. I noticed the same for a few other product lines also.
I'm looking for something lighter and possibly warmer. A neo-air short was an option but I guess not any more! I'm looking at torso pads to save weight. I find the neo-air a bit cool below 40f but rugging up in clothes solves that problem.
Can anyone offer any suggestions of something of similar or greater warmth? The lighter the better of course! CCF is also an option if we find it comfortable enough. I looked at the ridge rest solite but they only come in regular or large. I guess I could chop it down though.
I know the same topics continuously get raised but I love new discussions, even on similar topics and I'm sure you all do too!

I thought that maybe it was my browser but I tried IE as well as Google and even clicked the printer friendly version and it only has large listed for neo-air??

Benen, im wondering if your browser is defaulting to thermarest's Australian site (if such a thing exists?). I've noticed this a lot when traveling internationally. For instance, I've tried to visit American sites such as Google.com or cnn.com and it'll take me to an interface that is specific to the country that I'm logging on from.

When I click Ken's link above, I can see under the big "Neoair" heading, a specs tab that shows all the different sizes that they've always offered. Moreover, when you scroll down to the bottom of the page, there's a drop down menu that lets you search for all the sizes, and which online retailers carry them. Rest assured, all the sizes are still available. Something funny is going on with the browser it seems.

I have been reading this thread for a day or two because I was trying to figure it out as well because I was having the same issues with Thermarest on my desktop and everyone else was answering like "what problem?". I finally figured it out, I was using Firefox on my computer, and when I checked the site on my friend's laptop with Internet Explorer that's when I realized it could be a browser issue. I had the issue with Firefox but with Internet Explorer voila, no issue. Since Firefox is a far more secure browser, it can cause issues with sites that cut corners with their security. I have these snafus every now and again and the same isssues can occur with Netscape and Opera. Try changing your browser.

You might want to check out the POE Elite AC - the 2/3 length version. Comes with stuff sack and repair kit, for about 9.8 oz on my scale. It seems warmer to me than the NeoAir, and isn't crinkly to the ear. Also like that the two outer tubes are larger and keep you centered on the pad. Don't know if they're available in the Land of Oz!

I am using the newest version of FireFox and it pulls right up for me.

Oh, and I love me some NeoAir...

Haha, too true. I tried it out on my iPhone and it worked just fine. Really odd! Stephen, thanks for the option, I'll check it out. Any other suggestions for something slightly warmer but lighter than a regular neo-air?

The crinkliness went away a long time ago, it did not last long. On unfrozen ground, in the Fall in the southern Sierra on the west side of Whitney by Crabtree Meadow and Sky Blue Lake?, I hit a couple nights in the single digits F, early Oct., with my short and was fine. The second night of this, in my WM Apache 15F bag, I did have to drape my coat over my chest sometime before light. A good measure of the temps besides my erratic Zip-o-gauge was the iced over pool in the slow creek by me at Crabtree. I was on dry sand, so it was not frozen which would have been bad.

The video shows you how to do a modification on your neoair pad with an iron.
I cut my Lg pad down to 44" nad saved over 9oz!! It works, try it. If you are nervous like I was, try just cutting off 1 or 2 inches before you make that bold jump, plus it will give you practice. Hope this helps.

That sounds crazy Scott! I'm not sure I could do that so such an expensive piece of gear! I'd have to at least try out a short pad and see if I find if comfortable to sleep on first. I'm probably more likely to buy a short, try it, then sell my regular if I like the short but I'll keep it in mind though for sure.
