3 day trip. Denver/Colorado Springs area. on 06/30/2011 22:08:08 MDT Print View

Anyone have an amazing 3 day trip they'd like to share? Looking for something between 20-30 miles for my girlfriend and I. Prefer trails through wilderness areas.

The 23-26 mile goose creek-mccurdy-hankins pass loop is real nice and snow-free right now.

Depending on the time of the year, some trails are better than others. :)

Wilderness area, amazing scenery, and 4 mountain passed to boot. My buddy and I hiked it 2 years ago and it is outstanding. You may want to check and see what the snow conditions look like as it has been a heavy year.

The Four Pass Loop is an amazing trip, but won't be snow free for quite some time. There is a picture of Fravert Basin here:

Know about the Four-Pass Loop. As the photo shows, covered in snow still.

When? Mid July timeframe. Think we are going to make a big loop connecting trails around Mt. Elbert. Hard to believe, but it's pretty much free.

Still open for suggestions though.
