Has anyone tried on this backless piece? Here’s what C.A.M.P. says:

Always cool to see new innovations. Idea makes a lot of sense too.

Makes sense until you get to camp. Then you're either forced to walk around with your pack on, or find some other way to keep your back dry.

Still a cool idea, though.

Interesting piece. I think it would be difficult to actually put on, though, if I understand the pics and writeup correctly. There's still a strip of the fabric at the bottom of the jacket - just a big hole where your back would be. So you'd have to get that strip of fabric over your pack without taking it off.

Sew a pack cover to the opening and you will have a Packa. A more expensive one but maybe a few ounces lighter.

Hmm... same weight as my large Houdini which has complete coverage with a hood.

The hook is "pull it on (and off) without removing the pack"
I would very much like to see someone walking with a pack on and doing just that.
