That's an interesting user name you have. Care to share any more details on that tent?

Polycryo tent? on 06/08/2011 17:04:46 MDT Print View

Is this one of those tents made out of Polycryo that was talked about in the MYOG thread a month ago? Where can we see some pics?

Edited: 2mil painters tarp material. Guess I should've watched the video first :)

it's also NOT the plastic shelter/roof over my hammock OR the Typar tarp-tent on youtube if anybody was wondering....it's partially made of Tyvek...I should have a video of it posted on youtube and some pictures tommorrow - Sat at the latest...

Less than 8.5oz and under $35 shipped would definitely be intriguing, but obviously I would want more details, which it sounds like you're getting ready to release.

That's "bated" breath.....as in "to abate" or as in "holding your breath"....

"Baited breath" is to have a worm on your tongue while fishing......

I've always preferred fishbait breath, myself....

"Baited breath" refers to the panting of a hawk or falcon while waiting to go after the training bait.

Looks a lot like the Hawk Emergency Tube Tent to me. $10.99 without even looking for a bargain.

tubetents on 06/08/2011 21:37:22 MDT Print View

I've always wondered about tube tents - when it rains doesn't water collect on the floor and then start to run around until it gets absorbed by your sleeping bag?

this is not a "tube tent" on 06/08/2011 21:43:08 MDT Print View

seems to look like an overpriced piece of fragile alumium foil.

wouldn't rain catch easily at each end of the shelter?

not made out of any metal... on 06/08/2011 22:02:31 MDT Print View

Not made of any metal...polyester sidewalls (space station technology) + specialized Tyvek floor...

geared more toward those who like a tarp shelter...ends are open...no water will not pool inside anymore than a tarp shelter...
