For the record, I don't have a problem with the gear having been offered to staff first, but I do think that it would have been a nice nod to the paying members here to give next preference to them (not necessarily just MLifers - and yes, I read that word the other way too at first!!!).

I like the order of staff, paying members, general public; and promise not to complain about anything to Sam. I bet none of the staff are getting rich off this thing, and still they put out what is arguably the best product in the industry. They deserve a nice break, and some good gear.

I wonder how many people are refreshing there browser every so many minutes?

I've posted stuff FS and PIF on the Gear Swap Forum, and have offered it to (BPL) friends and others off-line before the items went live. Why? because I chose to. Because I knew the need of the ones I wanted to include early in the sale, or the ability to miss out on items that they might have interest in, and thought that they might be able to benefit directly from me before I put the items out to the BPL public.

Yes, I understand the point that Sam posted some potentially contradictory statements, but he was looking out for need/charity (Boy Scouts), and those that might not be able to trawl the forums all day for BPL deals (employees). If one were on the receiving end of this forethought, they might be appreciative of the thought as well.

The final batch of items is nearly ready for posting. I estimate I should have it live in in the next 30 minutes.

will you be posting the next batch on this thread, or as a new thread? just wondering if we should be refreshing this page, or the general 'gear swap' page :)
