Now that it will soon be winter in the southern hemisphere...

What are some recommended traverses? Any hut-to-hut adventures to be had?

Look into the South Island of New Zealand. Look at this site: http://alpineclub.org.nz/

You can access huts all over the country. Our winter season ends in late October and will begin in late June.
