I'm patiently awaiting the next batch of these books for the BPL Gear Shop. The publisher told me they expect more on June 2nd and if that happens I would expect them to be in stock by late next week.

It's totally worth getting. I read it and changed my base weight from 28lb to just under 9lb and counting =)

Michael, I'm not sure I've ever heard a more amazing testimonial to the power of a book before!

Well. It did a really great job of illustrating common pitfalls and making logical simple arguments against them, with cartoons! It got me to stop throwing a whole tube of toothepaste in my bag, to stop carrying a spare emergency bivy (jury is still out on what the heck situation I had in mind for that), stop carrying a 5lb 2 person tent for solo treks, stop bringing a 6 ounce headlamp that I loved how bright it got but generally preferred to keep my night vision, switch from a 60 ounce pack to an 18 ounce pack, e.t.c.

It freed my inner spreadsheet nerd! My girlfriend is still a little sore about that...
