I just watch this movie last night and what a classic mountain story. I think I was in my teens when I saw this last-there is perhaps 30 lines of dialogue in the entire film. Great story but a little sad towards the end. Excellent scenery and a story of a True Mountain Man..

Okay, so I guess I'm the kid here. I saw it in the theater at 10 years old. Loved it then. Saw it recently on cable and loved it again. Great movie!

Great movie. Made me want to move to Utah. Little Big Man was another great movie from around then.

I was in high school too, very impressionable too. I did move to Utah to go to college but not because of the movie. Del Q had most of the dialog. "Mother Q didn't raise no fool"

'Tis truly a great movie. An excellent choice for a fun movie night while out backpacking.

As are zombie movies. For some real fun while winter backpacking, have your group watch "Dead Snow" and then see who goes to sleep......

Love the movie. Lived out in the country in Wisconsin as a kid and didn't see many movies in the theater. Saw this one and it supercharged my desire to someday explore the mountains of the west :-)

Probably my favorite western. Saw it in the gym in my high school here in Japan with my whole school. Still remember the voices and music echoing all around.

Wanted to add that "Deliverance" preceded "Jeremiah Johnson" by a couple of months, pretty well bookending the wilderness experience in the minds of moviegoers.

I'm surprised no one has remade Deliverance. Probably because no one will take the Ned Beatty part. I always thought it was funny, my wife got her Dad to go to one movie in her life with her, and they mistakenly went to Deliverance. Pretty traumatic for a 16 year old girl!

Heh, traumatic sounds about right. Worst. Date. Movie. Ever. Much less seeing it with a parent.

Reminds me of visiting friends when one's mom was staying with them. My buddy and I went to the video store to pick out a comedy for the evening. I'd heard "Pink Flamingos" was funny, so that's what we rented.

"Deliverance" made Ned Beatty a star. Boy! What a role to ALWAYS be remembered by. But, as they say here in Hollywood, "It takes what it takes" and "Something is better than nothing."
