I just received some Momentum 90 that I purchased from Thru-Hiker for my smd meteor bivy project. I notice one side is a lot more shiny than the other. Does it matter which side goes to the outside?

I thought the shiny side goes out

They heat treat it so it melts a little which makes it more waterproof. It's called calendering.

From the Thru Hiker site... NOTE: this fabric has pronounced shiny and dull side. The dull side is the face side (aka the "right" side) and the shiny side is the wrong side which should go on the inside of your project.
