Came here to hide on 03/19/2011 21:06:19 MDT Print View

I came down here to hide. There is a meltdown of sorts going on within the gear forum about the waterproofness of Cuben Fiber.

I would like to use humor to cool down the rods up there but I'm not sure they can be easily cooled. Perhaps a fire hose would help?

Here are some questions that come to mind, in no particular order.

What are the radiation levels down here tonight?

How important do you think Cuben waterproofness is to the average Japanese resident right now?

Do you think the friction in Libya started with a discussion similar to the Cuben waterproofness one?

Extra credit will be given for asking and answering your own question.

One is difficult and requires much bravery (i.e. tending a failing reactor).

One is easy and requires no effort (i.e. ignoring all threads in Chaff, and many outside it).

Daryl, if you don't say something intelligent once in a while, one of the political parties may run you for president.

You can't hide, but you can avoid!!

My eyes tear up and my head spins when I see some of Nisley's charts and tables. Yes, facts/data are important. But beyond a certain point -- I just stop reading because I see NO VALUE in continued data Masturbation. Just how many charts do we need to put up? My two cents.

I haven't read any of it. I learned a while back that if a thread goes up to 100 posts really fast, then someones getting angry over some little piece of gear opinion. Hang out here for a spell (as long as you brought the alcoholic drinks)

To answer your ??'s
1. My radio is on 4. (not telling you what song)
2. I ain't never seen Japanese people smoke cigars, much less wet ones.
3. I thought Lybia was a part of the female body? Or is it a sign in astrology?
Extra credit- Why are we here? Because we are here. (that just gave away the song I was playing. "Roll the Bones")

Someone should figure out a way to pump seawater on those threads.

I wonder if you could extinguish a bloated, flaming thread by dropping bags of sand, lead, and boric acid on it from a helicopter.

Would a cuben fiber suit protect the workers from radiation?

Would a cuben fier uniform camo the Libyan soldiers in the desert?

Is it ever going to stop snowing in the Sierra?

Oh, what a spectra web we weave,
But doth this cuben quite deceive!
Waterproof yet!—no wonder why
I felt the mist fall to my eye:
I might have known there was but none
Whose fabric could quell Lord Silnylon.

"Is it ever going to stop snowing in the Sierra?"

I predict... yes, the snow will stop by the first of the month.

The only remaining question is: which month?

I believe that several of us here have stated that we've been snowed upon in the Sierra during every month of the calendar year.

>> which month?

i like that prediction with the disclaimer - lol

Last July I was hitching back to the car on Tioga Road and saw quite a bit of the leftover snow on a sunny and warm afternoon. Kinda surreal.
