This reminds me of another Ebay post a few years back (Brit, naturally) -- selling a crappy tent -- got thousands of questions and tens of thousands of hits -- finally fetching a cool couple thousand of pounds. That one, like yours above, also started out 'cheeky' but ended up taking on a good cause.
