WTB: Hammock, Fly, Tarp, cook gear on 02/21/2011 12:27:29 MST Print View

EDIT: Sorry to be so scatterbrained but this is now a thread to find the following items only:

* Ultralight tarp, (Tyvek or SilNylon), at least 9'x9', prefer 10'x12' or 10'x10'

* Lightweight guy lines, clips; hopefully reflective.

* Minimal cook gear. Maybe a pot and cup. Also looking into non-outrageous-priced multi-fuel stoves.

I've got a HH ultralight backpacker (bottom velcro entry) and a Go Lite poncho tarp if you are interested.

Both in very good condition.

If Kodiak doesn't want the Poncho tarp, then I may be interested; shoot me a PM with your asking price.

Hey Kodiak, I saw your earlier post about the Hennessey Hammock. I was actually the one that purchased it from Chris. I used it for a couple of trips, loved it but moved to a Warbonnet Blackbird Hammock I got over the winter. I kept meaning to put it back up here but hadn't gotten around to it. So in a funny way it is "still" available. I have modified the suspension to Whoopie Slings and straps/marlin spikes. Also added the 4 season shelter to it, though I modified the pad to go with my Warbonnet so a replacement would have to be purchased from Hennessey. If you're interested give me a PM and I'll hold off on posting it here or on Hammock Forums. I was going to ask $150 shipped for the whole.

Shawn: Wow, it's like fate or something. I would really love to see some pics if you've taken any. I'm brand new to hammock camping so I'm a bit lost.

Chris and Kevin: I think I need to pass, so please feel free to work with that seller on the poncho tarp. It's all yours man!

The offer on the tarp is semi-interesting. Do you know the yard weight? (ie, is it 1.1 ounce?) Do you know the brand?

I know CampMor is selling their ultralight 8x10 for $79, but their normal silnylon 8x10 for just $33.

This is about the best photo I have for it. I'm using a larger heavier tarp than the UL version of the Hennessey that comes with it. We were expecting a wet trip. I don't really have a detail shot or anything but go look at this guy's video's on youtube. A wealth of information on hammock camping and all the technical mumbo jumbo i.e. whoopie slings:

Shawn: Many thanks. I just got hooked up big time by a friend and am now only in the tarp market. I've been hammocked.

Thanks also for the link. I've got a lot to learn.

EDIT: Wow that Shug guy is such a character!

Thanks Michael.

Does it have any loops in the middle or just tieoffs on the edges?

Excellent Kodiak! Welcome to the obsession of "hangin". Yea Shug is a character to say the least. A lot of fun to watch.

Good luck!
