My brother is in the market for a lightweight insulated jacket. Does not have to be super warm, usually 40s max but needs to be light, at least sub 12 oz. Also $75 or less preferred and off brand is fine. Anybody come across a deal on something like this?

There was a used down sweater of some sort here on the swap forum for $75. It was about 12oz if I remember right.

You probably wont find sub 12 oz new, but cabellas just had their 550 down jacket on sale for $20. I think they are out of that jacket. XL weighs 20oz. The 650 and 750 ultralights are on sale for less that $75, but not 12oz.
No weights are listed on their sites.

I have a practically new XL golite salsa for $35. Rust. Weighs 17oz.

Yes I looked a little closer and 12 oz would be hard to get. I guess 15 oz would work but a vest might also be a good option.

Vest with sleeves might be an option.
I am after one of those myself but have yet to set it up or MYOG it.

Cabelas ultralight vest is on sale.
Not sure ont he weight.

Maybe check out Eddie bauer.

Spadout may be your best bet. YOu will probably be at more like
$90 for a new true UL vest.
