Two day trail for winter hike between Boston and Albany? on 02/09/2011 19:19:43 MST Print View

I have plans to meet up with a buddy that lives in Albany for an overnight hike in a few weeks with our dogs. I'm wondering if anyone could recommend a nice trail for us? The idea would be a trail somewhere between Boston and Albany.

If you don't mind doing a point to point, any part of the trail in NJ on the AT ending (or beginning, for that matter) at Delaware Water Gap (NJ/PA border) is nice. I've never done it in winter so can't tell you what it's like then, but it's a nice hike.

I'd recommend an overnight on the AT in western Massachusetts. Very close to Albany, variety of terrain, and great views.
