I was doing some thinking while looking at Hard shell jackets. With people not using the Dri-ducks pants, why not use that fabric as vent panels in hard shells. lightweight fabric, would seem ideal. It could be used on cuben jackets or pullover style anoraks. or used in place of pit zips.

I know its not that durable, but used in certain places could be effective...

just a thought.
