Snap looploc buckles? on 02/03/2011 10:52:47 MST Print View

Anyone know where I can purchase these buckles pictured on the sides of this hip-belt pocket?

Hard to make them out, but look like they may be a type of repair/replacement buckle that snaps over webbing, but used in a different application - attaching pockets to a pack. Is that right?

Yep, you got it. I've checked quite a few sites that carrying this type of hardware, and haven't found them yet.

It would help if I knew the correct name for them or the manufacturer?

I'm not 100% sure about this, but I think that's a double sided flat-cable (ribbon) clamp, I think that's the reason you don't see in on fabric/notion suppliers sites.

I haven't seen that exact one before, but having a background in high end computer architecture, it looks very familiar.

Probably won't be much help Michael, outside of wholesale channels. Fasteners are one of those things that get a lot of bleed over from industry to industry, but non-commercial availability is probably tenths of a percent of what options are manufactured. Sorry. =\

If you just need a couple, I'd ask Ron.

Yeah, Ron said he'd send me a few, but I'd like a dozen. I use them on quite a few different belts and pockets.

That's not the same thing, and it doesn't really help, but you'll see the similarity I think. The trick with the product you're looking for is finding out what they're *actually* called.

Edit: sorry, scroll down to the bottom to Anchor-Mount Cable holders.

If they are what I think they are, then they're called "slik clips"

You can get them open on both sides (siamese slik clips) or just the one side.

They sell them at my local MEC for $0.50/each.
