Specter pullover review on 03/24/2005 12:02:05 MST Print View

Ryan, Alan,
what are your thoughts on the breathability of the Specter pullover ? It was claimed that the breathability should be approaching eVENT but my first impression after reading the review was that it's decent but not spectacular. Any comments on that ?

I would also apreciate some words on the breathability of the Specter vs. benchmarks like Gore-XCR, eVent or Marmot's PreCip fabric. I joined BPL to get this kind of unbiased infromation and its disapointing not to see it.
Also I'd love to hear some words on how well the Specters hood worked in the rain, vs. models with stiffened brims.
Your Comprehensive Lightweight Rainwear Review from a few years ago was GREAT, I'd love to see a reten to that itamized and comprehensive format for the Specter review.
Anyways, like I said I'd love to hear more.
Cheers: Rob

Just tried out the Specter in Henry Coe Park on a very rainy weekend. I loved the hood and found that it breathed well--much better than Gore-tex pac lite, Activent (now XCR)and kept me dry even with moderate exertion. When really crusing up hills (>3MPH) it did start to steam up. I wish it had pit zips, but then it wouldn't weigh 6oz andd I might leave it at home more often. I don't have any comparison with eVent.
