The store carries umteenth different kinds of drop bottles and plastic containers -- but only one selection of backpacks! All other online stores carry at least a couple of different ones!

Why is that -- particularly in light of the many UL and SUL models that have come to market recently?

My guess is... and this is PURELY just a guess... that BPL is less about being a comprehensive online store and more about sourcing lots of unique miscellaneous items which you can't really get anywhere else... at least not all in one place... and not in ones and twos... things like those dropper bottles, flexair pillows and titanium foil... things that you would have a hard time sourcing or buying in small quantities if you were to try and find them elsewhere. Packs are not hard to find elsewhere and we are all very well served by companies like Gossamer Gear, Mountain Laurel Designs and Six Moons... etc. Also, those companies (esp. MLD) often offer custom work, build to order packs that BPL would not be able to offer.
