My first experience with snow camping.http://goinglighter.blogspot.com/2010/11/first-time-snow-camping.html
Thanks for this report, Thomas. It brought back memories of my madcap college years when I took off for Norway and lived there for two years. It is a beautiful country. How deep was the snow you were in? Did you use snowshoes or skis? I'm used to using USGS maps for my trips in the U.S. Did you have access to good topographic maps for where you were in Norway?
Glad you liked it. The snow was 10-15 cm deep. No, we didn't use snowshoes or skis, just hiking boots. Next time we better bring skis though :).For this leg we got our maps from a free government map source on the web.
Great write up Thomas. I enjoyed the read and the pictures.
Thomas, could you please tell where I can find the maps you mentioned?
