GoLite Pinnacle Pack on 11/17/2010 14:31:55 MST Print View

Hello John,

I helped you at the GoLite warehouse sale last night. I am one of GoLite's North American Asst. Sales Managers. I now understand the reason you have spent over $3000 at the sale so far...in order to sell it at a mark up on multiple websites.

That said, you are no longer welcome back to any of our sales. You are marking up our products, over the sale price, in order to make money for yourself and you ARE NOT AN AUTHORIZED RESELLER.

If we see you at any future sales or swipe your credit card, you will be asked to leave and will be escorted out.

The GoLite warehouse sale is not meant to be used as a wholesale source for you to make extra money.

Thank you.

Unless John used his Boy Scouts story to get discounts over and above what is offered to the general public, I don't think he did anything unethical. Buying something for the asking price, marking it up, and selling it is normally called "retail." If I bought a GoLite product at a retail shop here, I'm sure that they would have bought it from GoLite, marked it up, and sold it to me. The only "offense" John has committed is to make GoLite unhappy because he didn't go through some official channel.

Mike did Golite decline to sale to John last night or did Golite sale to John and then raise the objection. Did Golite ask John to stop this practice privately and give him time to respond before they made this public notice?

Is there any difference between John D selling this Golite pack (and whatever else may show up here) and the BLP members who have posted something like...
"HEY ALL!!! Get 1/2 off ABC brand equipment on their website with this code XXXXXXX at checkout"?
The latter has been done before, as well as the former. Get over it or disallow both.

Boycott GoLite Products!!! on 11/19/2010 06:52:14 MST Print View

Seeing that GoLite wants to use such intimidation tactics, I suggest we boycott GoLite products. Mike Wedding needs to get a job in advertising--- shaking a mattress store sign on the street corner.
