Yes, there is a choice for "New Subscription" and "Renew Subscription" if you already have one.

I haven't ordered from Tanga.com (only from discountmags), but you can order 1 or 2 years of it from them for $3/yr with code "BACKPACK".

I talked with customer service at Tanga. It looks like Backpacker has a 2 year renewal limit. So if you're already subscribed through 2011, they recommend you only order 1 year. If you order more, Backpacker may reject it.

Not sure how this information impacts the 3 year deal from the OP, but this is what I was told today as I was ordering a renewal.
