"The Haven Tarp is a shaped tarp that is designed to provide the maximum amount of protection for a minimum weight. It's dual pole design with 48" (122 cm) wide canopy provides a tremendous amount of headroom. The wide canopy creates nearly vertical sidewalls. This in turn translates to more usable space with the tarp and less chance of bruising up against the side walls.

The short sloping front insures the Haven Tarp will deflect the strongest winds. Both the front and back of the canopy are cantilevered cut to keep it taut.

Four lightweight bamboo poles raise each of the corners. This gives you more room at the feet and head. It also allows the Haven Tarp to have a shorter overall length of 100" (254 cm), while still accommodating the tallest hikers. Combined with it's 86" (219 cm) width it has a pretty small footprint, allowing it to be setup in a wider range of sites.

The Haven Tarp can be setup using your hiking poles or our optional carbon fiber poles. Dual tabs on either side of the canoy allow the Haven Tarp to be hung from a line between two trees, eliminating the need for poles.

The Haven Tarp is designed to be mated with the Haven NetTent. Together they form a luxurious sized double wall shelter at a mere 36 ounces (1 k). "



There is a very small spot where the noseeum needs to be sewn back into the strut sleeve at some point. Shown below. You could easily use it as is, it does not affect performance in any way.

Do you know the dimensions of the net tent? SMD's site lists the area as 22 sq ft and that does not seem like much for a 2 person shelter. Thanks.

I feel like the tent is pretty roomy. Here is a link to the more detailed data sheet from SMD. It has really great headroom and PLENTY of room to keep all our gear in the tent with us (at our head or feet) while we are in tick season (I am 6ft my wife is 5'6). My wife and I have the BA IAC pads and with both of them in a summer coupler from WM we have about 6-7 inches on either side of us.

Looking over these Net Tent dimensions on the Net Tent PDF, the Net Tent is listed as 30 sq feet which is accurate. Where did you see 22 sq ft?
