Well, I had some free time a work today so I made a quick little Alcohol stove out of a couple of Redbull cans... Funny little thing:)
After I got home I figured I would give it a whirl...
approx.<1oz of denatured alcohol boiled 1.5 cups of cold tap water in 3 min...
heck, I didn't even think the thing would work.
Of course this was done in my kitchen... so no wind screen, lid or pot stand was used. I used my SP 600 Ti mug and quickly discovered that I had to use a piece of aluminum foil around the handle as a heat deflector... That Ti handle gets very hot without it:)
The stove and a 4oz Nalgene bottle fits perfectly inside the mug:)

Which stove design did you make? Since you didn't use a pot stand, was that a Fuzzy's Lil Stove?

Doug... I'm not sure who's design it is? Soooo.... it is an open top with 12 pin holes around the sides about 1/4" from the top. The pot sits right on top of the can after the fuel boils.
I took it with me this past weekend and had a blast with it... It took a little more fuel to boil 2cups of water and I used a wind screen this time.
All in all it worked fine and for an overnight by myself I would take it...

I'm not sure if there's a common name for the side-jet variant of the Pepsi Can stove (same design as AntiGravityGear's stove). I made one of those recently; it worked well enough. I've found using the stove as a stand to be a bit too tippy, so I made a 0.7 oz. pot stand out of a coat hanger.

I built a Lil Fuzzy can stove from Red Bull cans, cut the bottom out of a 12 oz. Heineken 'keg' can for a pot, and glued the stove into the bottom cut from another Heineken can. The inverted beer can fits exactly over the top of the stove, which makes it a bit more stable. Total stove + stand + pot + windscreen weight is 1.4 oz., and it all seals inside the fairly sturdy beer can with room for a few ounces of alcohol.

One cup at a time isn't good on a long hike, but it's great if all you need is a cup of hot cocoa, bouillon, or oatmeal. (I was carrying an MRE with a packet heater for dinner.) I'll probably add the Lil Fuzzy stove to my kit if I'm on a long day-hike with the off chance that I'll get stuck overnight.

The link you posted doesn't work, but here is a stove similiar to the one I use... Just vthat mine is a RedBull can:) I realized that with soooooo many designs I just recreated what was already done... No new tech here, but my stove seems to work great under Ideal conditions(nice Blue flame) and good under very windy conditions with a wind screen....
