kev, a good intro hammock for someone your size might be the ENO double nest, or the Warbonnet traveler.

both are large, lay fairly flat, and inexpensive.

i can do a custom UQ for you if you want one to fit any of the hammocks on the market. just let me know when you are ready, friend.

i just had Back surgery...and sleeping in a hammock has worked best for me
the slight curve helps ...it helps in the hips and the lower back ...for me it does
but i would try a Warbonnet traveler...and if you like that...i would go with a Warbonnet blackbird
the footbox in the WBBB is soooo nice
