I've searched like crazy for any information on this pair of snowshoes I found at the Colorado Ski&Golf REX sale. Appears to be made by Red Corp. MSRP was $239. Sale price was $99.

I found it's logo on an avalanche transceiver:

It appears the distributor no longer exists. But, like the avalanche transceiver (manufacturered by Barryvox), the snowshoe appears to be manufacturered by MSR - it looks like an old Denali Ascent with the heel crampon.

Anyone have any information on this snowshoe? For the price, I don't see why not to keep such a great deal (~MSR Denali Ascent for $99).

Could be a knockoff of the MSR Denali. Sure looks like it, especially with the add-on tail. But those are some FIERCE spikes on either side that the MSRs don't have. And I don't remember heel lift wires on the Denalis either which these 'shoes have.

Even the straps look like the ones on my MSR 'shoes. Could they be made under license from MSR? The Europeans generally are very good about respecting patents but the Denali patent may have expired.

I have the new MSR Lightning Ascent 30" snowshoes and love them for their resistance to side-slipping when traversing steep hills. The Denalis have a similar ability, unlike my 30"Atlas showshoes.

P.S I wonder if the Denali tail extensions would fit these 'shoes? let us know if you find out.

My old Denali Ascents have spikes and heel lifts.
