Great deal on 09/05/2010 07:16:54 MDT Print View

I wonder if it's just end of model year clearance or if they are scaling down their outdoor line? Either way, picked up a sweater and vest this morning. Considering I paid $90 for a Cloudveil 650-fill jacket 'on sale' last year, I'm pretty excited to get both of these for $85 bucks!

p.s.- If anyone has a medium vest/jacket they would like to sell(or trade for an XL), please let me know. Gotta think about the wife too I guess.

ryan, what sizes were available this morning in the downlight sweater/vest? it seems that they restock a bunch of items overnight and that sometime in the morning is the time to hit it up. Did you see anything in L/L tall? Interested to see if I should make an early wake-up tonight to check the stocks.

Cheers,
Brendan

The sweater was available this morning in a Larg/Tall (Blue only). I didn't see any yesterday throughout the day. Grabbed one around 7:30am CST) and when I rechecked at 9:30m, Large/Tall was no longer an option.

Looks like I'll be returning the other one I ordered (XL tall) to a local EB store. Thank goodness they have a liberal return policy.

Yeah may be a little late in the weekend. I had a lot of luck around that time on the 2nd, and 3rd.

No luck on the vests though.

Vests on 09/05/2010 13:21:47 MDT Print View

Keep checking the website - I hadn't been able to find a vest in the several times I checked (ordered a jacket the other day though!) and they had large vests in black and brown both this morning, so I picked one up. I looked again later today and they appear to be out, so keep trying, you might get lucky!

I just went to my local EB store to see if I could find these great deals. They came up empty. BUT they did a great effort in checking their system and found BOTH the Downlight Sweater and the Igniter Pant (both in size L) at the Columbus Outlet store/warehouse.

If you call the outlet, you may have to ask them to check the warehouse (which is attached to the outlet store). Not everything in the warehouse apparently shows up in the stores inventory.

They checked the warehouse and honored the clearance price.

The phone number is (614) 278-9281.

Good luck!

I just got back from the EB outlet store in Columbus. They said they wouldn't match the website price since they are already an outlet. Their sale is only 50% of retail... so 1/2 of $169.99 (Not a good deal)

Anyways, I went over to the Easton retail store (also Columbus, Oh) and bought everything they had left. I'm not trying to make any money here, just passing it on to forum members.

Anyone know if they stocking the women's sizes in their retail stores? I'm just about geared out myself, but the GF could always score a good deal on winter gear. Thanks

That's disappointing to hear Jason. The lady I spoke with on the phone was quite helpful and quickly agreed to honor the on-line price.

Glad though that you found some stock anyway.

effort for trying eh? on 09/06/2010 14:26:45 MDT Print View

Konrad,

I picked up the last large downlite jacket they had in womens for my girlfriend. The retail store honored the web special with no problems.

All,

They have about 300 downlite jackets at the EB Outlet store in Columbus, OH. All sizes from S - XXL, but they refused to match the online price because they said the outlets don't follow the same pricing scheme / structures.
Seems kinda stupid, but I'm sure they will sell in due time since colder weather is nearing

Still 1/2 price is not a bad deal, but not as good as $41.99

Oh well...

call again on 09/06/2010 14:42:07 MDT Print View

i'd call again to colombus and tell them that someone else just got the online price. I pushed it and was able to get everything at the online price so they definitely will do it. AND no tax.

good luck,
Brendan

I went there in person... And walked up the the cash register with 10 jackets and a print-out of the on-line special and was told no.

Are they willing to ship to you?

Downlight Vest -- Persistance Pays Off on 09/21/2010 12:43:59 MDT Print View

Even though they were marked "sold out" for a while, I kept coming back to the 1st Ascent site. I was able to get a couple of downlight vests (one L, one XL). :)

I concur- after disappearing for a while, the Frontpoint and Igniter jackets have shown back up on the site, in Large no less. At least, they were this morning- probably gone again now. :)

Just checked this morning, they've got Tall Large jackets back in!

Wish I could have gotten grey, but red is fine with me!

Check in the morning, they seem to update at random.
