For anyone that is hellbent on grabbing these discontinued packs, heres 2 on ebay, but keep in mind that they are being shipped out of Ireland. Shipping should be cheap though given the weight.

Interestingly enough, these 2 ions in particular have the "recycled content" logo on them. I thought they discontinued the ion before going the recycled dyneema route...maybe the europeans have a different product line? This might also mean that these particular ions are heavier than the highly sought after sub 10 oz ones that people are always talking about. Anywho...good luck!

Small and Med

I purchased an Ion new in its last year of production and towards the end of the model year. Mine doesn't have the Recycled logo on it.

Do you think they kept selling them for a little longer in some countries? I also wonder if they're heavier than the original ones.

They're still being sold in Europe.

The listing says shipping is EUR 4.85 to the United States which is something around $6-7. Could be a great deal.

I can't find anything to substantiate the Ion being sold in Europe. There are web sites with no inventory and the Gaynors link is dead. You can find many US websites with no inventory.

Why GoLite doesn't make the pack is beyond me. They have the patterns, etc.

I would be suspect that they are counterfeits.

Sam and I talked to one of the lead guys for European distribution @ GoLite when we were at OR and he told us first hand that he had a limited number made for sale there.
