Hello all! My wife and I have been camping for quite some time but have recently discovered lightweight backpacking thanks to Jason Klass' youtube videos. We live in central Texas and would like to know if anyone knows of places we could go to backpack in my state. Or if you have a link to share that might point me in the right direction, that would be great. Thanks in advance! =D

Big Bend is in Texas, but from Brownwood it is still quite a drive.

Colorado bend, Palo Duro, offer some hiking, but not really lightweight multi day bping.

That's not too far from me. My family lives near Corpus Christi, so I'm used to making the 6+ hour drive haha. Thanks for the input!

I been backpacking in the following areas close to Austin and San Antonio:
Pedernales Falls State Park
Hill Country State Natural Area
Lost Maples State Natural Area
Enchanted Rock State Natural Area
Bastrop State Park

I'd say Hill Country State Natural Area is you best bet for a multi-night trip...
