Looking for a certain type of tent for the tall. on 07/26/2010 21:37:58 MDT Print View

Does anyone make a tent that has an all noseeum netting enclosure attached to the bathtub floor with a clip on or other attachment way for a rain/wind shield for a person 6'5". Free standing with poles is nice but not a deal breaker. Something under 3 pounds? Thanks.

Lightheart Solo might work for you.

SMD Vamp and Haven. You buy the net tent separate from the outer fly.

You can hang the net from the fly or use the net solo with trekking poles.

Neither are freestanding. Freestanding tends to add weight.

P.S. I haven't tried the Vamp, but the Haven has plenty of room for two 6.5 foot tall people.

I'll bet the Vamp will be roomy for one.

I also want to say that I don't need to sit up.

I've reviewed the Vaude Power Lizard UL on BPL so have a look if you like. Might be what you're looking for.

I don't think the Vaude is going to have good flow and the SMD stuff is out of my price range right now for a simple tent.

Thanks though

Those are all good ideas but would use any of them except for maybe the Mio at 80+F without roasting?

I'm 6'3" and fit in a MSR Hubba with a few inches to spare. It might work...
