Custom Made Outdoor Clothing?? on 07/24/2010 22:13:51 MDT Print View

Here's my problem:

I had a favorite piece of clothing.

It was a Patagonia softshell pullover (their original "talus pullover" that I lost when we moved about a year ago. I've been looking to replace it, but can't find a replacement. (Hard to find any softshell pullover, these days.)

Anyway, this pullover had two features I really liked; a butterfly zip neck, and a large chest pocket. I can't find any softshell pullover with either of these features, much less both.

So, I'm looking for a custom sewing shop, someone who could make me one from scratch. I actually have an old Lowe/Latok Papillon pullover I could give them for a pattern, so they wouldn't have to come up with a pattern.

Any recommendations on an outfit that will do custom sewing and could fabricate a pullover out of Schoeller dryskin?

What about Beyond? They have a pullover style, but not sure if they'll mix and match fabrics.

No need for custom-made: these are available.

That contrast strip across the chest covers the zip for a full-width chest pocket.

I've never used them, but have only heard good things about Specialty Outdoors. Not only repairs and modifications, but also custom work...
