I've heard that roasting nuts in olive oil can be a good way to increase energy density. Does anyone have a good recipe/procedure? Would you do this in an oven, or a pan on a stovetop? How hot should the oil be? How long does it take for the nuts to absorb the oil? Is this like deep-frying, or do you just coat the nuts with oil? Will they be messy and sticky afterward?
Rather than doing this, could it make more sense simply to cook my own nut bars or something?
