OK, Here is the deal. I have a 25 year old Snow Lion down bag. In its day it was top of the line and had 650 fill
down. It's hard for me to determine a value since I can't compare it to anything on here. Someone could get
a nice warm bag for a budget price or may reuse the down for a quilt?
I have taken very good care of this bag with all the usual
precautions... always slept in long johns, never stored
stuffed, non smoking house... etc. It is old and the
material is faded, it also has a couple of small spots.
However it is clean, has no odor, and is really in good
condition. I used to snow camp in this in Utah and the
Sierras and was never cold.
This bag is a roomier cut than todays bags. The width at
the sholders is more than my WM UL Super. It has two full
length zippers so there is no draft. It has a consistant
7" of loft. This bag is warm. Compared to my Western Mountaineering
Ultralite Super which is rated to 20, this
bag is a solid 15 degree bag, maybe a 10.
Here are some specs, 40 oz down, fill. Weight 4lb 2 oz.
Brand/Model Snow Lion Northstar Reg. Length Up to 6'
So there you have it, old bag, still lots of use in it,
