Hi, I am just getting into the whole ultralight backpacking style so I'm starting by replacing my sleeping bag, which is due for a replacement anyway. I've been looking at the Mountain Hardwear Ultralamina 32 bag, since I'm not so keen on going down and I'm on a budget. What are your thoughts on the bag?

I hike mostly in the Northeast, 3 season only (for now) but I also hike in California and the Pacific Northwest, the latter being very wet and one of the reasons I do not want to go down. My biggest concern is that the bag will be too cold, since I have been using a 20 degree REI bag and I've been pretty happy with that warmth. I am probably going to buy a 4oz 10 degree liner for colder trips.

i have one and i'm comfortable in it at least down to 5 C or so.. haven't tried it lower but with some clothing i should definitely be able to take it down to 25 F -- I am a pretty warm sleeper though.

I think I read that this was EN tested and rates reasonably close to 32 F.. of course, 32 F was listed as the limit, not the comfort rating.

I really like this bag, it packs down small. Doesn't seem to have too much loft but still performs great. I'm taking it with me on my Colorado trail thru hike this year even though many advice that you need a 20 F bag.. I'll be taking a big down jacket along as well.

We'll see if this turns out to be a mistake :)
