Finially purchased a new tent and pack! on 06/28/2010 00:01:35 MDT Print View

After a few threads and much research I ended up purchasing a ULA ohm, and TT moment.

Im my quest to lighten my load, the ohm was not the lightest option, but seamed to provide the most functionality and support, especially for its weight.

As for the Moment, I couldn't find anything else that could compete with the combination of simplicity, protection, and weight.

Im pretty pumped for the new gear. Im probably not going to make my goal base weight of 10 lbs, but should be close to 11. I easily cut my pack weight in half, and made little sacrifices to comfort or function.

Its gonna be a light season, and lots of new gear to try out!

Nice work. The Ohm is a great pack. It's super versatile which is awesome. Unlike pretty much any pack that's lighter, you can carry a pretty big load if needed and it's got pretty decent volume so you can carry heavier loads if needed (ie. winter use).

Not that it really matters, but you should be able to make 10 lbs or less if you keep at it. I'm under 10 lbs with an Ohm, double wall 2 person tent, full rain gear, down parka & down pants, cooking gear for two etc.

Hey thanks,

I think I will eventually be able to make 10 lbs too. But I will have to change a few more items, and I probably wont make many more purchases this season.

Just received my ohm today and its looking great. I loaded it up with about 16 lbs and was able to get pretty much the entire load on my hips. The hip belts and shoulder straps are honestly more comfortable than my TNF Primero at a fraction of the weight.
