Am I going to be happy I brought a DriDucks ultralite rain jacket instead of my Mountain Hardwear Typhoon rain jacket on the CT in August? It seems as if they are highly recommended so I think I'm going to try them out.

For the price, it works well for me, though I've only used mine on one trip.

Had a full day of light to moderate rain, 20-30 mph winds, and 40-50 deg temps. While walking it kept me warm enough, kept the wind out, and kept me pretty dry. I think the only dampness I experienced was me sweating a little bit...pretty standard.

You can't really go wrong with it for 20 bucks, just be sure to buy a smaller size than normal, or at least try them on before buying, as they run quite large. Most big-box sports stores carry them, so it shouldn't be too hard to find a place to try them on.

I have no experience with the other jacket in question, so I can't really comment on how they compare with one another.
