Simple Improvement to O2 Jacket on 06/19/2006 03:05:33 MDT Print View

I recently added a couple of cordlocks to my Rainshield O2 jacket. I highly recommend this addition to anyone using the jacket as I feel it creates a better seal against the face or neck in strong precipitation. If not a better seal, it certainly makes it much easier to create a seal than fumbling around with the two cords via knots. I bought the cord locks from REI for $1 (for the pair), both weighing maybe 0.1 oz on my scale. The ones I bought are called B-Lok-4 and are for 1/10"-1/8" cords.

Another simple little improvement I added was some self-adhesive, sticky-back velcro dots behind the zipper flap, to provide a little better seal. No measurable weight increase. think I picked them up at the hardware store, but you can get them at fabric stores, Walmart, etc.
