Anyone Has Experience with SD Isotope Jacket? on 06/17/2006 23:14:05 MDT Print View

Curious about this jacket:

1. Is stated weight (5.5 oz for size L) accurate?

2. How's the jacket's breathability?

What are some other wp/b nylon jackets in this weight category (i.e. excluding non-woven ones like DriDucks, Dropstoppers, etc.)?

Ben , check the Spotlite review by Alan Dixon on this site. The weight is accurate but the breathability is so-so. If you can wait 'til the fall, the 6 oz. Golite Virga may be a better bet. The Spotlite review by Don Wilson indicates that it is both more waterproof and more breathable than the Isotope. The only other jacket I know of in this weight range is the Patagonia Specter pullover at 6.5 oz. It is considerably more expensive than the Isotope or Virga.

Thanks, Dondo. Good to know. My biggest concern was the Isotope's breathability.
