I just got some stakes back from being ceramic coated in yellow to make them more visible. (MSR Groundhogs, MSR Needle & titanium J-stakes) I don't see the orange that you typically get very well because of a slight red/green colorblindness. I've also noticed that it comes off eventually. The ceramic should stay on very well and is more visible to me. I'm looking forward to giving them a shot in the field. The guy that did these typically does work in the cycling industry. That's actually how I found him. I've used his coated gears and so far I'm impressed. Don Meredith

Blimey!I wonder what the ceramic coating does as far as bonding to ice goes? Better or worse than Titanium?Cheers

Hi Tony> They look like they have been coated by Titanium NitrideYeah, could be. I do have a vacuum pump, but I think the process may a bit too much to do at home ... :-)Cheers
Its definitely not Titanium Nitride. All kinds of colors are available. I chose yellow to get them to stand out, of course. The guy that did the work for me is RD at
