I am reading a book about Sandy Irvine (Fearless on Everest) . In that there is a mention of a Meta burner. That reminded me that we used to play with Meta (Metaldehyde) as a kid. That was the solid fuel burner for small steam operated toys like boats and trains.Apparently the stuff is highly poisonous .Has anyone tried it ?It is made by Lonza in Switzerland.Franco
it is listed on zenstoves.net. but there is not much information about it. http://zenstoves.net/SolidFuelBurner.htm#Metaldehyde
HiYes, that is where I found the full name for it, we always called that " meta ".From memory it did not smell, but I could be wrong (it was over 40 years ago...)Franco
