HiLight NOT Event on 04/10/2010 17:11:28 MDT Print View

Hi Bud, I'm sorry to hear about your illness and hope that all of this works out well for you.

I don' need any of these items right now, but I would certainly encourage any of you who do to purchase from Bud, rather than a retailer so that he will be well provided for. Thank you!

===============================================

Just to clarify the fabric on the BD HiLight 2010, here is a quote from the manufacturer's description:

"Black Diamond HiLight tent is now made with NanoShield fabric, a new proprietary breathable single-layer fabric. NanoShield is extremely water resistant: it has the highest water column rating of any breathable single-layer, single-wall fabric at 1700mm. Such as outstanding rating is the result of BD's exclusive Silicone Nanocell coating. This coating has a much lower volume than typical water-resistant coatings, allowing the fabric to remain superlight, soft and packable."

Just want to clarify...is the HiLight the older E-vent or the newer Nanoshield fabric in the picture?

Thanks

take care of yourself.

just a note:

the tent has never been made of eVent... the older model was Epic. I get them confused all the time... silly similar sounding names.

Thanx Folks! The tent is Epic... on 04/11/2010 13:33:59 MDT Print View

Thanx for your well wishes - I plan to recover from the Bells Palsy that paralized 1/2 my face. My right eye stays open and is blurred by the necessary lubricant - this makes me a bit unsteady, so I can't carry too heavy a pack - might lose my balance. Selling stuff to pay for my physical therapy. I'm 4 months into this, but am doing better. I am able to day hike OK with a fanny pack. :<)

The tent was purchased Sept 1st, 2009, and I'm sure it is the Epic fabric - which I 1st erroneously labeled eVent. I used an Epic Lighthouse for 3 years, and loved it - no condensation or leakage in lengthy rain storms.

Hope you recover fine. Stay encouraged, my college room mate suffered from Bells Palsy and he recovered nicely, so there is hope.
