I'm looking to hike from from socal to central. are there any trails which run on the central or western side of the state?

I was just going to set out along the PCH, but first wanted to check if any scenic routes were available. a mix of scenic and highway would be great fun too.

Check out the California Coastal Trail, it's a segment of the Pacific Coast Trail.
